The Post You SHOULD Read!

Quinn Chapman and the Altar of Evil I

Quinn Chapman and the Altar of Evil The flames of Hades flickered off the rough hewn walls of the cavern as I stumbled my way deeper into the earthen maw. Acrid, black smoke invaded my eyes, blurring my vision and clouding my lungs. Dark voices shouted in a rhythmic chant somewhere beyond the hall of fire through which I now walked. My body was cut and bruised; my clothes turned to rags barely clinging to my sweat glistened flesh.  What maligned road led me to my current state of depravity? My mind flickered back to that fateful day in the warrens of Singapore, to one of the myriad of seedy opium dens lining the alleys. It was there that I found the remnants of the infamous Anglo explorer Sir Percival Covington.  I pushed back the shoddy veil of the curtain to find Sir Percival upon his back, clad in sweat-stained khaki and a weeks' worth of grime. So much for the hero of the British Empire. His glazed eyes alighted upon me, and a flicker of recognition danced across his ...

WTF? You're not an Alcoholic? I'm offended!

This is me pretending to be an Instagram doing something interesting...

Guess what? I'm not really an alcoholic, though I have every right to be. Everyone is offended about everything these days, so I don't care. I won't go out of my way to offend you, but if I do...oh well.
All of the blog writing advice says something about making catchy post titles or trying to be different than everyone else in a very crowded market. I doubt I will accomplish one or both of those things (my title is kind of catchy). Honestly, I am not entirely sure what I am trying to accomplish here. Maybe I will figure that out as I go along.
Maybe you can help me?
Have you been drawn in by my BS yet?

The first idea in doing this blog thing is to write more. I need to write more, even if it is shitty. I need to write every day to practice the craft and get better. Every writing advice website says the same thing.

The second idea is that by expressing my issues and frustrations I will be able to overcome them. As I encounter a new issue, I will probably do a post and share my experience and it could just be a stream of consciousness. It may not be the right way or the way that works for you.

No proof of concept yet...

The third idea is to get my name out there and eventually link this blog to an author website if I ever manage to finish writing something.

A potential fourth idea would be to network and get advice from fellow writers and published authors. I don't care if you write in secret and never share your work or if, by some miracle, you are an author who has published piles of books (or you ghost authors have...looking at you James Patterson). I'd like advice and input from any of you, especially if you are going through the same problems as I am. In my next post, I will delve into those problems with writing and into myself.

Occasionally, based on my ADD tendencies, I will through in a post bout something that is not directly applicable to writing a novel...that depends on perspective. I travel for work, sometimes to exotic locations (not recently due to the COVID) and want to share the experience. I have a myriad of interests and will probably muse about them as well.

Who doesn't like to throw tomahawks?

Deal with it.

There is a difference between political correctness and just having manners.

Criticism should be constructive and that is the only kind I will take here. If you want to troll or be destructive you can fuck right on off. There is probably a whole list of other things that this blog won't be about and that is a long one, so I won't share that shit here.

For now, God bless you and God bless the USA (and any other country viewing this with their respective deity).
